Kyle shares something of the family accounting gene, being a third-generation CPA, following in the footsteps of his great uncle and his father. “I was around it my whole life, and saw early on that I was good at it.” Kyle works extensively in the manufacturing & distribution and real estate industries, and plays a key role in the firm’s industry teams. He is particularly passionate about working closely with business owners and C-level leaders. His experience includes approximately seven years with some of the industry’s largest firms, including a three-year stint in the London office of Deloitte & Touche. During his time in London, Kyle gained significant experience in the M&A area by structuring transactions, reviewing agreements, advising clients on tax implications, implementing tax savings strategies and international tax structures. Kyle continues to work with his clients to not only ensure they are meeting their compliance obligations, but more importantly to proactively help them minimize taxes while operating or exiting a business.
“When you’re dealing mainly with owners of businesses, as is the case at Geffen Mesher, you get to see just how much our work matters to them, especially since it impacts them on very personal levels.” While Kyle’s Big 4 background informs the technical knowledge and expertise he brings to his current projects and clients, he keeps in mind the person-to-person nature of the work as well. “Personality is a big component that a lot of recent grads and newer CPAs often take for granted. You can have the best grades in your class, but if you can’t relate to people, you’re going to have a hard time in the industry.” “While I love what I do, nothing’s better than spending time with my wife and children when I come home.”
