From Demo to Practice – a Hands-On Finance Session
This session is part of FEI SFBA’s AI in the Real World series, focused on practical applications of AI within finance organizations – with a shift from passive demos to hands-on experimentation.
Sowmya Ranganathan, Co-Founder & CEO of Lumera and former Controller at OpenAI and Rippling, will lead the session – moderated by Valerie Martin, Strategic Finance Advisor and Board Member.
The agenda for the session will include:
- A grounding in automation, LLMs, and agentic AI – including key differences and specific finance applications
- Two practical demos focused on close, reconciliations, and reporting workflows
- A guided hands-on build session where participants will test real use cases directly. Participants will receive access to a tool environment to experiment during the session.
- Open Q&A and group discussion to share learnings and practical applications
👉 The goal of the session is to help finance leaders experience what’s possible, not just see it.
The session offers 1.5 CPE credits.
