Don Mayer is a Professor of the Practice of Business Ethics & Legal Studies at Daniels College of Business, University of Denver (DU), where he teaches business ethics and corporate responsibility, law and public policy, business and global values, and international business law. He has published numerous academic articles on business ethics, business and society, international law, and environmental law. With Jim O’Toole, he co-edited Good Business: Exercising Effective and Ethical Leadership (Taylor and Francis, 2009).
He came to DU from Oakland University in 2007, where he was Professor of Management at the School of Business Administration. He is the primary co-author on several textbooks, including Business Law and the Legal Environment (FlatWorld Knowledge Publications), International Business Law: Cases and Materials (Pearson/Prentice Hall), and Essentials of the Legal Environment of Business. His blog, Perfectly Legal but Wrong, explores how much of what is “perfectly legal” is nonetheless morally wrong.
After serving with the U.S. Air Force, Don had an active law practice in North Carolina (1975 – 1984) and then pursued a post-graduate law degree in international and comparative law from Georgetown University Law School, graduating in 1985.
