Chuck manages complex fraud investigations for public and private sector entities and leads Rehmann’s background, fire investigation and digital forensics divisions, providing a suite of professional investigative tools to help clients identify and prosecute fraud.

Chuck’s investigations of financial misappropriation have resulted in successful prosecutions of C-suite leadership, bank employees, public and school officials, and financial and legal professionals. He has been retained to advise key state agencies in fraud prevention strategies.

Chuck began his investigative career in 2003 with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) as a Special Agent. During his 20 years with the FBI, he served in the St. Louis and Detroit divisions. Chuck led countless successful criminal investigations into complex financial, healthcare fraud, public corruption, violent gang and narcotics trafficking, violent crimes against children, and domestic and international terrorism matters. Chuck completed OCONUS assignments representing the FBI in the middle east and Europe. Chuck served in leadership roles at FBIHQ and most recently as the Supervisory Senior Resident Agent of the Detroit Division/Flint Resident Agency (FLRA) which covers six Michigan counties.

Prior to joining the FBI, Chuck was a manager with an international financial services firm in Atlanta, Georgia providing business advisory services leveraging linear programming models.

Chuck prioritizes effective collaboration and goal-focused, creative problem-solving, beginning with the end in mind.

John Lindow is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Pepperdine University and practitioner-scholar focused on ethical decision-making and fraudulent behavior. His recent dissertation research explores how the design of remote and hybrid work arrangements shapes employees’ willingness to speak up about suspected wrongdoing. It highlights the roles of psychological safety and decision rights in work arrangement design. He aims to advance academic knowledge while translating rigorous research into practical guidance for business leaders.

A CPA and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), John has nearly four decades of executive finance and accounting leadership experience at large global public companies. He spent 25 years at Masco Corporation, including 12 years as Chief Accounting Officer. Masco (NYSE: MAS) is a leading manufacturer and distributor of branded building products (Delta Faucet, Hansgrohe, Behr Paint, and others). The company’s annual revenue is estimated at $8 billion, with nearly 18,000 employees worldwide. He previously held senior level financial roles at Valeo and Durakon Industries (private equity-backed) and began his career at PwC.

John brings a strong operational perspective and practitioner’s lens to topics such as fraud prevention and investigation, enterprise risk management, internal control, financial reporting, business intelligence, M&A diligence and integration, and board and audit committee engagement.

An advocate for his community and profession, John is a member of the accounting advisory board for Schoolcraft Community College in Livonia, Michigan, which enrolls more than 30,000 students annually. He is the past Chair of the Financial Council for Manufacturers Alliance for Productivity and Innovation (MAPI) in Rosslyn, Virginia, and previously served as a board member and Treasurer of the Michigan Chamber of Commerce in Lansing, Michigan.

As a member of Varnum’s White Collar Defense and Government Investigations Practice Team and Litigation and Trial Practice Team, Mark’s practice focuses on white collar criminal defense, government and internal investigations, complex civil litigation, and appeals. Mark was a federal prosecutor for over 17 years prior to joining Varnum, most recently serving as Chief of the White Collar Crime Unit at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Detroit. Mark led investigations and prosecutions involving health care fraud, financial crimes, and other sophisticated white collar matters. Mark is a graduate of the Yale Law School and the University of Michigan.

Meghan Fiore is a forensic accountant and consultant at BDO USA, P.C., an accounting, tax, and advisory firm. She specializes in fraud investigations, financial disputes, and compliance matters. Meghan leads complex engagements involving allegations of misconduct, asset misappropriation, and financial reporting irregularities, bringing deep experience in forensic accounting and data‑driven analysis. She partners closely with legal counsel, management teams, and boards to navigate sensitive issues and manage regulatory expectations. Her work spans industries and includes analyzing complex financial data and evaluating allegations of fraud to support clients through high‑stakes decision‑making.
