Leading in a Global VC Fund: Driving High-Impact Social Change

The Draper Richards Kaplan (DRK) Foundation is a global venture capital firm investing in for-profit and nonprofit startups committed to improving lives around the world with high-impact concepts. Over the last 20 years, over 270 startups have been funded affecting the lives of over 610 million people worldwide. This is what we mean by High-Impact Social Change on a Global Basis and where the movement is going in the future.  This program will specifically cover the stories of three amazing investments and ways individuals can get involved.

 

Holly Kuzmich has had an exciting 30-year career starting in Washington, DC to Dallas, where she was first the leader of the George Bush Institute and today is a leader in the DRK Foundation. This is a fascinating story of her professional journey to today, and why.

FEI DALLAS GUEST POLICY

Members and sponsors may bring guests subject to advance registration and approval.  The following general conditions apply with exceptions approved in advance.  Email Jackie Dunn to request guest approval:  jackie.dunn@feidallas.org.

 

  • Guest fees, if applicable, are payable by credit card in advance at the time of registration. 

  • Guests generally may not attend monthly chapter meetings on a repeated basis.  A notable exception is that chapter members’ financial staff are invited to the Summer Professional Development Series at no charge as a value-add to members, and may attend more than one session.

  • Guests may not serve in a business development role for a firm that provides products or services to financial executives unless specifically approved in advance.

  • Not all chapter events are open to guests.  Refer to the registration section for each meeting for information on guest registration.

 

Special Provisions for Prospective Members

FEI members and chapter sponsors are encouraged to invite prospective members to monthly chapter meetings, the Summer Professional Development Series, and Special Events pursuant to the attendance guidelines for that event.  Prospective members may attend one monthly FEI Dallas meeting on a complimentary basis, and additional events at the discretion of the Membership Committee, to evaluate the benefits of FEI membership.

CPE CREDIT

This event offers 2.5 CPE credits (1.5 credits in Information Technology and 1 credit in Finance) to all attendees who are eligible to earn CPE credit.  Registration in the FEI system and onsite verification of attendance are required to earn CPE credit.  Instructions on managing your FEI CPE credits are available here.

 

Financial Executives International is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. Complaints regarding registered sponsors may be submitted to the National Registry of CPE Sponsors through its website: www.nasbaregistry.org.

 

For FEI CPE credits, one credit hour equals 50 minutes according to NASBA guidelines.  Some state boards may differ on how many minutes constitute a credit hour. Contact your state board for more information.

 

CANCELLATION

Forty-eight “business” hours notice is requested for cancellation.  We recognize that plans can change at the last minute; however, as good stewards of our chapter finances, we ask your help in controlling expenses due to cancellations and no‑shows.

 

Under FEI’s new AMS system, an event registrant must cancel their own reservation, admins are no longer able to cancel registrations.

  • Log in at the FEI website.

  • Click your name in the upper right area of the screen which will take you to your FEI record.

  • Go to MY REGISTRATIONS for a list of events you’re registered for.

  • Find the correct event and click Cancel Registration.

 

Special Note – You’ll also see a button for Transfer to Someone Else which we ask that you do not use (ever) as it causes complications within our registration system.
