The theme for this evening’s event is " Exploring the Distinctive Rombauer Portfolio of Wines."
We are excited and honored to have with us this evening Ritchie Allen, VP of Viticulture & Winemaking, and Cheryl Riedel, Director of Customer Engagement, for Rombauer.
Richie was born and raised in Australia in the iconic winemaking region of Yarra Valley. However, it took a trip to California and a day of tasting wine to convince him to change career paths from a molecular biologist to an oenologist!
From there, he embarked on a path to formally study winemaking and work for some of Australia’s most renowned wineries, including Penfolds and Church Road.
In 2004, he decided to return to California where he began his 22-year career in winemaking at Rombauer. After various promotions, he now oversees all vineyard and winemaking operations.
Cheryl has the privilege of being the longest-tenured employee at Rombauer having started her career there in 1992. Interestingly, she started working in the accounting department at the winery!
Eventually, she gained experience in virtually every administrative department of Rombauer before moving into a sales role in 2014.
At that time, she took over responsibility for the winery’s direct to consumer business and eventually became head of the Rombauer Wine Club. She also established the “Rombauer on the Road” program where she travels around the country engaging with the winery’s customer base.
Richie and Cheryl will be sharing 8-9 wines from their portfolio during the evening, including a sparkling wine, 2 whites, 4 reds, and a dessert wine.
This delicious array of wines will be perfectly paired with a catered 5-course gourmet dinner.
Our in-house “somm,” Brian Ruttencutter, will be acting as master of ceremonies for this delightful evening.
Please join us to experience these stunning wines and a delicious multi-course meal. It's guaranteed to be a night filled with great wine, delicious food, excellent networking, and a lot of fun!
