Brian spent over 16 years serving public and private corporations, partnerships, and high-net-worth individuals in the Denver and Washington National Tax offices of Deloitte Tax LLP. He served as the real estate tax practice leader for Deloitte’s Denver office, serving public REITs and private real estate developers in both domestic and foreign markets. In addition to real estate taxation, Brian also specialized in Federal income tax accounting, with an emphasis on the timing of income and deductions and capitalization and cost recovery matters. Brian has been with The Anschutz Corporation since 2016, serving first as its Vice President of Tax, and since 2020 as the company’s Chief Financial Officer. His responsibilities include consolidated financial reporting and tax planning and policy for the global company. Brian received his Masters of Accounting (MAcc) and Bachelor of Science (BS) in accounting from Brigham Young University in Provo, UT. Brian is a Certified Public Accountant in Colorado and Washington, D.C., and he is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants. Brian currently serves on the board of directors of the National S Corporation Association and on the board of trustees of the Greater Colorado Council of Scouting America. He previously served on the Tax Methods & Periods Technical Resource Panel of the AICPA and was co-author of the article “Accounting for Bonus Compensation Under the Final Corporate Estimated Tax Regs,” The Tax Adviser, March 2008. Brian and his wife, Jena, live in Centennial, Colorado. They have 6 children.
