A Back and Forth Discussion of CPA Ethics
This course examines recent examples to illustrate the AICPA Code of Professional Conduct and the Texas Rules of Professional Conduct. We will discuss how a CPA can put his or her values into action while serving clients, employers, the public and the profession. As part of this course, we will also look at ethical conundrums and traps that practitioners can fall into while addressing moral dilemmas

CPE CREDIT
This program offers 4.0 CPE credit hours in Ethics based on a 50-minute hour in accordance with the standards of the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy. CPE credit will be managed by the Speaker for this program, it will not be processed through FEI’s online CPE Center.
IMPORTANT!
Under TSBPA rules attendees are not permitted to arrive late or depart from the seminar early and still receive credit for having attended the live seminar. Partial credit cannot be awarded under these rules. Upon request, Speaker will provide access to her online self-study ethics course to a registered attendee who must miss part of the live course and therefore be ineligible for CPE credit.
Learning Objectives
To educate licensees in ethics of professional accounting as Texas CPAs.
To convey the intent of the Texas Rules of Professional Conduct and the AICPA Code of Professional Conduct in the performance of professional accounting services/work, not to adhere to the mere technical compliance of such rules.
To assist the Texas CPA in applying ethical judgment in interpreting the rules and determining public interest. Public interest should be placed ahead of self-interest, even if it means a loss of job or client.
To review and discuss the Texas Rules of Professional Conduct and their implications for persons in a variety of practices, including:
CPAs in client practice of public accountancy who perform attest and non-attest services.
CPAs employed in industry who provide internal accounting and auditing services.
CPAs employed in education or in government accounting or auditing.
