Adapting to a New Normal: Economic Signals, Structural Shifts, and What Comes Next.

Katherine will present an economic update with both US and global perspectives. She will assess where the economy is headed as the Federal Reserve gets closer to the end of its rate cutting cycle, and the effects of tariffs, AI, and slower population growth on the outlook. She will provide forecasts for economic growth and inflation and discuss the risks tied to geopolitics and lingering trade policy uncertainty, as well as implications for financial markets.

CPE Learning objectives:

  • Analyze current U.S. and global economic indicators to evaluate the trajectory of growth, inflation, and labor market conditions as the Federal Reserve approaches the end of its rate cutting cycle.
  • Assess the economic implications of structural forces—including tariffs, AI adoption, and demographic trends—and incorporate these factors into short  and medium term forecasting.
  • Identify key geopolitical and trade policy risks and explain how these uncertainties may influence financial markets, investment decisions, and organizational planning.
