The number of Hoosiers affected by fentanyl-opioid deaths far exceed just those individual casualties.  Each incident ripples through our communities, families, and businesses.  No one can say they are unaffected.  IU Finance professor and researcher Dr. Ryan Brewer will team up with Indiana Asst. Chief Deputy Attorney General Cory Voight to share the true economic and community costs associated with this dangerous substance abuse epidemic.  We will also learn what actions our State is taking to help fight it and how we can help as concerned citizens.  An extended and moderated discussion with Q&A has been added to the evening’s schedule to allow for plenty of member participation.

Learning Objectives:

  • Prevalence of fentanyl and opioid abuse in Indiana.
  • Types of costs associated with the subject epidemic.
  • Economic scope and extend of the costs.
  • Existing legal landscape in Indiana related to subject.
  • Proposed legislation.
  • Existing and proposed enforcement in Indiana.
  • How can Indiana citizens get involved.

*Individuals who register as a Qualified Prospective Member must meet FEI's Membership Qualifications.
