Dr. Ryan M. Brewer is Division Head and an Associate Professor of Finance at Indiana University Columbus, where he has worked since 2009. Dr. Brewer also served as Director of IU MBA Columbus from 2018 to 2022. Brewer earned his Ph.D. from Indiana University Bloomington in 2011 on the topic of financial economics: intrinsic valuation. Brewer earned an M.B.A. from the Kelley School of Business in 2001, focusing in economics and statistics. On several occasions spanning a fifteen (15) year period, Brewer has testified as a valuation expert in the U.S. Federal and Indiana State court systems. Prior to entering professional school, Brewer worked for five years as a Risk Manager for a Fortune 50 (U.S.) Corporation in Michigan and Indiana, ultimately attaining worldwide responsibilities for the development of policy compliance programs.

Brewer’s work on valuation, economic damage, economic impact, and forecasting has been published in peer reviewed Academic journals on twenty-two (22) occasions, and his work on valuation has been highlighted in the Wall Street Journal on twelve (12) occasions. Brewer’s work in valuation has also been showcased in the Chicago Tribune, the Chronicles of Higher Education, CNN, MSN, MSNBC, ESPN, Sporting News, and a host of regional business periodicals across the United States, such as the Indianapolis Business Journal, the St. Louis Business Journal, Columbus Business First, the Dallas Business Journal, the Tampa Bay Business Journal, and the Denver Business Journal, among others.
